Welcome!The Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute (American Montessori Society affiliate, MACTE-Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education-certified) is designed to prepare the student to enter a Montessori classroom ready to approach the child in a sensitive, positive manner. The Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute serves the student in basic training, but also is a source for continuing educational advancement and support once the student enters the teaching profession. Since 1960, the American Montessori Society has been the main source for meeting Montessori educational needs. AMS is a national, not-for-profit, non-discriminatory association dedicated to promoting quality Montessori education for all children. The national headquarters is located in New York. The Mid-America Montessori Teacher Training Institute offers American Montessori Society (AMS) approved training programs in:
